TPL

Beginning 2011, two large dryers 84 tm, and 400 cm in diameter, were sent from the West of France to JEDDAH via the port of Antwerp, as part of an important water treatment project, for which the logistics are fully coordinated by TPL. TPL is focused on environmental - and construction project.

This company also developed a packaging concept (READYBOX ®) and is active in assembly activities. Even in times where the role of transport intermediaries is questioned by some, this was a true feat of organization performance. Robert Vermetten (Managing Partner TPL) refers to the excellent cooperation between all the main players especially the owners\' representative of NYK in Antwerp. In France and TPL’s French WPG partner Celtic Global Services was also involved for part shipments via French port in West (Montoir).

Though it was not easy: After two permit denials, missing the first boat, and more than 10 long weeks waiting for the agreement of 13 (!) French prefectures for a transport with a combined total weight of 116 tm to be able to carry between the West of France (Bretagne) and Left Bank, Antwerp the safety buffer was consumed . The cargo arrived just in time to catch the NYK ship with destination JEDDAH.

Given the two pieces initially with their 84 tm gross weight and a height of 425 cm being overweight for the roads in the west of France, the reduction boxes of every unit had to be removed in France and mounted again in Antwerp on the quay just before the ship was leaving.

A last minute (!) standby Gottwald and a perfect collaboration with engineers from the company and the quay staff deserves praise. A true just-in-time for out-of-gauge!
