ITAC coordinates and manages the movement of many thousands of tonnes of freight around the globe each year.
This includes the transportation of land rigs and drilling equipment. As an example of our capabilities, please find the following Projects ITAC has successfully completed.
1. Transport Drill Rig from Houston to New Zealand, July 05
House Forwarder for end Customer Shell, New Zealand, contacted Itac Services as the Contracted Forwarder could not deliver goods to meet the deadline.
Within 24 hours Itac Services had conducted investigation and confirmed booking for arrival to meet deadline.
Shipment executed successfully.
2. Transport Drill Rig from Adelaide to Houston, March 05
ITAC Services contracted to inventory and remove Drilling Rig from desert which had been in storage for quite some time.
ITAC Services worked with Customer offshore to identify items that made no commercial sense to ship and removed Rig from desert to Adelaide. Rig was packed, cleaned, inventoried and shipped by Charter vessel, organized by ITAC Services, to Houston.
3. Transport Drill Rig from Texas to Dubai
In this situation, another freight forwarder was contracted to deliver an SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) drill rig component from Beaumont (in Texas) to Dubai. This freight forwarder was unable to meet this requirement successfully, so ITAC was called in to manage this freight movement. Within days of our being contracted, ITAC had expedited the movement and was able to deliver the SCR twelve days faster than the other contractor. ITAC was even able to meet this deadline when the supplier of the rig in Beaumont delayed their dispatch of the equipment by four days. This example illustrates one of the key benefits provided by our integrated methodology. Our team is able to minimize delivery times and therefore reduce the off-revenue period for the drilling equipment. By adopting this approach, it allows our customers to generate more revenue from their assets.
4. Transport Drill Rig from UK to Angola, February-March 07
ITAC Services placed on-site staff in the UK, to ensure that all appropriate processes (e.g. Bivac inspection, check-weigh of each item) and documentation are all properly managed prior to shipment. This approach illustrates a key differentiator provided by ITAC. During the preliminary phase our team works around the other technical processes, so the packing and dispatch can commence as early as possible. ITAC's approach is different from most of our competitors, who don't start their work until the technical processes are finished, and therefore create delays in delivering the rig. ITAC understands that such delays cost our customers money, because they lose time for operations, so our approach is designed minimize the off-revenue periods for the drilling equipment.
Additionally, ITAC also positioned a representative in Angola to ensure that the entire process is properly managed from end-to-end. ITAC’s ability to keep this process well organised for our Customers (and allow the Customers to meet their deadlines) proves our capability to successfully manage movements of bulk freight into Angola.
5. Transport Drill Rig from UK to Angola, February-March 07
ITAC is in the process of freighting a land drill rig from Kuwait to the Australian outback (some 770 kilometres north east of Adelaide, as shown in the diagram to the right). This not only requires the usual international movement procedures (e.g. cleaning, packing, inventory management, quarantine/customs clearances and transport engineering), it also requires the movement of this large rig over a very long distance into one of the most inhospitable areas of Australia's outback. This contract illustrates ITAC's ability to manage the seamless linkage of sea and road transport, and to deliver rigs to their destination, even over long distances where the road systems are poor.
Each of these drill rig movements was able to be managed successfully because:
we have developed leading expertise, and a deep understanding of optimised drill rig movement processes; and
our team applied the proven methodologies described in the following section to minimize the off-revenue periods for this equipment.
